I read about the launch of EscrowHill.com back at the end of 2013. The services has been launched by an ex Escrow.com member of staff, Andee Hill, and is based in New Zealand. The service directly supports six currencies including USD, GBP and EUR. The rates seem lower than Escrow.com for higher value transactions. They're also lower than Sedo.com external escrow (Sedo charge 3%) who support USD, GBP and EUR. If as the seller of a domain name you wish to be paid in GBP by EscrowHill.com then you may begin the transaction in GBP and ask the buyer to wire funds equivalent to the amount in GBP. Once EscrowHill.com have the total funds in GBP that you as the seller wish to be paid in the domain name transfer can proceed. Once concluded, EscrowHill.com will wire the funds in the same currency so no more surprises when your local bank astronomically charges you for any currency conversion.
Has anyone thought about giving them a go?
