Hi All.

Released to the interwebs recently. Bit of a side project to trickle some revenue & as much a portfolio project as anything else.

Based on WordPress & bootstrap and using my own WPR theme framework and custom post-type/taxonomy plugins with a helpful dollop of jQuery. Fully automated deal/offer import via WPAllImport + custom dev work.

First phase done, lots more to add bit by bit, including a 'local' section.

Thanks

Stephen

Looks good! Clean and simple, very usable.

How are you picking which products appear on the front page? Seems like the selection is a bit random, could you feature bestsellers, or the best deals?

How are you going to drive traffic? Obviously will need unique content if you're going for organic search.

Seems a bit strange to have adwords banners on it, given that all your content is affiliate linked - adwords would make more sense if you were a content heavy site going after volume traffic but for this it just gets away in the bit, IMHO

Thanks

Yeah, first phase is just to get the site up and running. Home page is v. similar to deals page atm. Next phase includes a much different bespoke home page a bit like asap. More content / help pages as well.

Front display all via custom widgets that can be by category/clicks etc. When I get more stats I can change things a bit.

Adwords to monetise somewhat but agree with the top one. Will be replaced with a slider. Code done for that, just not the slider images.

Second phase done - local & travel plus back end stuff. Cleaner look.

Local categories maybe a bit off - South Yorkshire is not the East Midlands and West Yorkshire is not the North East

Displaying slightly odd on my iPhone

Going by feed generalisations atm for local. I'll refine them and split northwest/northeast and add north.

Not being an apple user prob not a surprise not perfect. A bit of tweaking for the header section needed.

Thanks.

Looking at it again, it looks like an ad further down is throwing the page width off.

Possible, thanks. Might just scrap the adsense, or make it desktop only. Makes 1p a day on average.. not worth the space on mobile.
