Yes that's my feeling too. It becomes a business for sale otherwise. If I was John Lewis, Argos or M&S I would much prefer any IP acquisition was un-tarnished. Though I don’t think sentiment is valid for a sale to an entrepreneur.

How about, Putting it on auction with no reserve on domainlore.uk, and contacting several christmas related companies and other companies that might be interested, and give them the link to the auction, and with everyone on here seeing this also, I am sure you will achieve a decent price.
