A recent acquisition of mine.

I would love to hear others thoughts on value and also ideas for the name. Naturally I have my own opinions on both :)

Frank, I think it's a gem. If it was possible to code a site that could aggregate 'following' across all the social networking platforms, it'd be a killer site.

Yes, if you're ambitious, create a service that can follow all of a user's social media streams. A good name.

Thanks very much for your comments guys, I really appreciate it. I love the name and have grown really fond of it since getting it.

Dale, your idea is something I am toying with anyway (before I got follow) as I think it has legs as an idea alone.

I think it has great potential for lots of uses and ideas.

Anyone care to put a value on it ?

Are there any big social media sites on a .co.uk?

It seems to me to unnecessarily limit the potential and outreach of the site, for the sake of utilising a decent domain name.

There are already quite a few sites that do that...although none of them are huge and all could be improved. I don't think it's that ambitious, but would require ongoing checks and edits in line with changes to the social networks.

We're really going to have to stop overlapping on enquiring about the same domains... :D (fortunately it wasn't this one I enquired about, but was on the company's pricelist).

It's a nice domain and definitely suits social media. Retweet.co.uk (£2,050 on DomainLore) is similar but Follow.co.uk has more scope I think, so higher value as a result. Would probably be able to flip it on to a domainer for approaching mid £x,xxx at a guess, but I presume it's one for you to keep and develop.

I would probably develop it into a social service targeted towards UK companies rather than individuals. :)

very nice name
and obviously has social media applications

however I would want a .com for this type of site tbh
has value of course though, the extension lets it down in this case
bring on the abuse :D
(damn i loved saying that on a .co.uk centric forum lol)

To be honest, that is the only downside which I also thought at time of purchase. But as the name isn't limited to social media I felt was a strong enough name outside of this area to warrant buying it anyway.

This was part of the reason for my post to be honest.

Yeh I agree it wouldn't be that hard to do as a site - it would be more about growing awareness for the site imo.

Cheers Matt - just dropped you a mail :)

[abuse]Not everything has to have global appeal for it to work [/abuse]

maybe for development purposes
rather than piggyback on other social media sites successes, which name lends itself too and prfiling twitter and fb users

could be developed into a standalone site a little like linked in
but more personalised and be a meeting place for uk startups and businesses
interesting entrepreneur type people
