Info here for those who are 123reg affiliates, and displaying the 123reg logo, (I only discovered by accident) as I was certainly not contacted and informed.... that the affiliate code has changed.

Instead of the part of code where it says affiliate.cgi, it now says affiliate2.cgi
I wonder if this is why I hadn't earnt any commissions lately?

You might want to check yours as well.

Just found they are paying £1 per domain regged if you affiliate with 123reg's program at tradedoubler.co.uk

Nice of them to let us know! I too wondered why my affiliate stats had not moved... From now on I won't be promoting 123 to anyone anymore anyway!

Rich :)

Since they dropped their commission for domains from about 50p down to 10p it's not really been worthwhile anyway. I'll look into the Tradedoubler thing...

It was a very crafty email back in August:

Subject: Affiliates - Changes to the 123-reg affiliate scheme on 31st August

Dear 123-reg affiliate,

123-reg make it easier for you to earn more

From the 31st August instead of us crediting you with 10% per domain, you will now be able to earn commission on every product we sell.

To help you make the most of these changes, we have completely re-designed all our affiliate banners and introduced a wider variety of sizes and formats which will be ready for you to use from 31st August.

The new designs provide your site with much more modern and exciting banners to increase your click through rate and the new sizes have been created so it is easier for you to find a banner that fits cleanly into your site.

Please note: Your affiliate ID number will remain the same and the tracking tags will continue to work on the old banners, so you will not miss out on any payments.

Why change your banners?

We would advise that you replace your existing banners as the products and amounts we pay commission for are not being updated for the old banners. If you continue to use the old banners you will still only be paid 10% per domain.

In some cases information on the old adverts is no longer accurate, and they do not advertise the recently launched website building product InstantSite or our blogging tool, which have been a huge success.

How to change your banners

Changing your banners is as easy as when you first put them on to your site. All you have to do is remove the old banner's HTML from your site and copy and paste the HTML from your chosen new banner onto your site. It is as simple as that!

The new banners along with information about how much we will pay you for each product will be made available in the affiliate area of your 123-reg control panel
Remember, your affiliate ID is not affected by these changes.

Best Wishes,

The 123-reg Team

So you still get 10% on the old banners?

I don't see why you'd want to use 123-reg whilst at tradedoubler, 1and1's commission is £2 and Fast Internet's is £3!

One.com is also offering £10 per sale order, though I'm sure if people just order domains, then that can't be right!

Thanks for the info.
I will look at Tradedoubler instead of registering with companies individually!

I haven't received any comission payments for a long time now, still have a few domains pointing to the program.
And when you click on 'View Affiliates Statistics' in the control panel it says they cannot be displayed as they are working on a new system - this has been like that for months!!!:(

Do any of the registrars pay out for referrals to existing members or all to new accounts only ?

Indeed, I raised this with Matt some time ago:

and he told me he would chase it.

You can contact him to get a current balance of your account, which reminds me I have some monies owing.
