are there any of these names left to register new? or is that why they are all so valuable?

i can imagen that most of the 3 letters are taken, if not all as i work it out to be around 17,576 possible names.

however 456976 is the possible 4 letter combos... which i guess wouldn't all be full? naturally the field for these are a lot smaller.

still the question stands! :D

Are you talking co.uk? I don't think there will ever be a time that all 4 letter combinations will be taken.

i figured as much.

still, i wonder how many drop, not for long obviously, but still.

The same domainers (2-4 of em) seem to snap up all the LLL's that drop, so unless you learn to be faster or narrow the field only way to get em is buy.

3 letters still drop once in a while, but they get caught usually by AD members increasing the pool owned by industry professionals.

The general standard of drops has decreased markedly over the last year. People are getting wiser to their value, and the valuable words/phrases/idioms/anagrams etc are more and more held long term.

Just wait til 10year registrations happen!

As for 4letters - all the 4letter dictionary words are gone (apart from a handful -there's another thread somewhere).

What Giant games and rob? :D

Not catching LLL's but built up more from the start, as for giant games, legend has it they were there when Nominet booted up the first automaton force feeding it requests through its cassette drive!

Nope, LBE, RTL and a few others I can't seem to remember the names of, its generally the same 2-4 tags on any that I watch for.

I don't know why I book them coz the catch services would be hella faster if people just didnt book unrealistic names. I havent in my time ever seen a public facing catcher catch a LLL or single word quality generic, yet they are booked and slow the system down. I think chris (why are all drop catchers called chris, chris/dale, chris b and chris/ronnie) holland has the best idea and just doesnt allow LLL booking so it doesnt slow the system. (I assume alll 17k havent been booked already and they have blocked them).

Anyway its the same few tags each time :)
