Hello everyone,

I've been lurking for a little while now trying to build up my knowledge slowly here and there. Well, I thought I'd say hello and thanks for the advice, past and future!

I am starting to take domaining a little more seriously, although I think it will always just be a hobby - I'm fairly small-time really with about 30 domains, the vast majority of which were FTR.

I come from a software/web development background, and recently completed a domain monitoring tool which means I can pick up some of the leftover scraps.

Next step for me is attempting to monetise my domains, at least making sure I am covering the renewal fees!

Worst domains were a couple that included TMs, while I have big plans for the best domains (doesn't everyone!) Some recent FTRs are:

greaterbelfast (.com/.co.uk)
faster (.org.uk)

Some tips:

- Quality not quantity.

- Remember buying is easy, selling is hard.

- No harm in running a small, high quality portfolio.

- Remember that developing sites takes time. Don't underestimate the time required.

- Be very fussy about what domains you buy.
