I had an invitation to join this recently formed organisation.
Assuming it has no nefarious intent and that they are genuine it looks to be an interesting proposition.
There are two sides to this;
1) If you write content and it's distributed or copied and used on site ages which generate revenue through advertising then the idea is that you will receive a % share - nice.
2) If you publish content (from other people) then the idea is that YOU share your ad revenue with the original content owner - potential for a drop in £$ - not so nice
