I received an email with the following comments:

Our advertising partners stipulate that only only their adverts should appear on parked pages, this is to ensure that only paying advertisers receive visitors from traffic to parked pages.

I would advise you to remove these advertisements immediately in order to avoid being penalized

I know some of you will suggest, that I am playing the game, well you would be wrong!

The point is there are several issues

1. The domain is forwarded from UK2, and anyone who has had a uk2 domain will know that forwarding a domain will mean a uk2 header. It is not something I have manipulated, generated or requested.

2. The contract or T&C with the parking company suggests
Participant may not place the Parking Program page within a frame without prior written approval from Sedo.

As with point 1, if have not placed any advert anywhere.

3. Referrng to the first quote, is the insistance on only using their adverts against the "The Competition Act 1998".

Any thoughts guys?

lol dec it was sedo and they were rude, spurious in there accusations

And the rest of my domains are elsewhere, maybe 10 at uk2

Regardless of whether it was your "fault" or the fault of your registrar, you're still in effect breaking Sedo's rules so it's not surprising they contacted you. Just consider yourself lucky that they're giving you a chance to correct the situation rather than throw you out completely - and remember that reps from Sedo participate on this forum!

With all respect Edwin I am not breaking or have broken any Sedo Rule.

All rules cover actions of participants. It would be wise for Sedo to define these further, rather than the use of heavy handed false allegations

UK2 adds a frame. Sedo doesn't allow frames. Rule broken. Or am I missing something else?

Yes you are Edwin

UK2 adds the from, UK2 are not a participant

I would welcome Sedos comments

why bother with the hastle? uk2 are clearly hijacking the ppc advertising by framing the redirection.

Sedo have a clear point and case. Other registrars clearly have a better morals. If not SEDO than any other PPC site would have the same issue, as would namedrive I hope. They have to obey by the code of conduct that is laid down by the ppc aggregator (e.g google) in order to display the ads in that form. So why shouldn't you have to abide by Sedo (or others) code of conduct?

S

tifosi, do they have a case?

Whether or not Sedo or any other PPC site has signed an agreement with an aggregator, does not make the relationship and its conditions enforceable on anyone else.

Prehaps this is a moral issue, in two directions.

Can i.e. sedo enforce there suggestions without breaching contract and or implying false alegations or would it be more appropriate for i.e. Sedo to re-write their policy and rules, rather than relying on unwritten rules.

I note you suggested that I should abide by their policy, I have abided. It is ther spurious usage of "participants may not", by definition I have not

Surprisingly today the PPC has changed the wording to "Domain holder may not" Oh dear, they still have not recognised the sugestions made.

i would say its a bit like a pub here - the landlord has the right to refuse, if they dont like you then you dont get to drink.

personally as a source of income i'd move the domains

good luck
:p
