I am trying to grab a domain name that is currently suspended, is a pre nom and has no renwal date.

as far as I can work out it belonged to a company that was disolved in 2004 but nominet have no records for a registrant.

Nominet have told me that the name will be deleted in the next three months, I'm guessing that this is under the 'pre nominet domain names project' detailed on their website

I really want this name and have contacted the Treasury Solicitor to see if it can be auctioned on auctionurls

the name is already booked at dropcatcher and there will be lots of others after it.

Is there any way of predicting a drop date? And i want to take a belt and braces approach to this, i am a complete novice, what are all the things I need to do to give me the best chance of getting the name?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

What is the 'last updated' date in the whois for the domain?

If it is a good generic domain then to seriously have a chance of catching it you will need your own script, nominet/dac membership and a lot of luck! Or you could try paying one of the private catchers on here to catch it for you.

the last updated date is 12/01/06, is this relevant to drop date?

What kind of arrangements and security do the catchers on here offer and who are they?

If the domain is suspended then it will drop either 92 or 99 days after the Renewal Date. :)

no it wont :)

Sorry mate, didn't read the post clearly! I have a tendency to skim over a post and assume what is being said! I didn't realise was a prenom. What I said applies to all postnom names :)

Technically not all, but the vast majority ;)

An example of this would be runtime.co.uk which should have dropped months and months ago :???:

That's odd - any idea as to why that particular name has been suspended for so long?
