Sad but not really a surprise, her life has been blighted by fame.

Tragic waste of a life & talent, but not unexpected in all honesty, you live life like that and it's never going to end well.

It was only a matter of time, and to be honest I didn't really rate her voice.
I could speak my mind....but I wont

I will, the real tragedy today is the news of all those kids in Norway getting slaughtered, they had no choice, she did, and she chose to self destruct, she made sheds loads of money from her fans but rarely gave value for money back, she was more famous for being a f*ck up freak show than she was for her talent.

She had a pretty good voice that when she chose to and her arrogance took a holiday she used.

IMO she became a parody of herself, and rarely lived up to the hype.

Regardless of your personal opinions, someone has died and deserves respect. Time and a place for speaking your mind and today is neither of those.

In Your opinion.

I am an adult and I can make my own judgements on when and where I say what I think.

I agree with denchomsky, a lot of people have indiscriminately been killed in Norway through no fault of their own and all everyone is talking about is some arrogant smackhead, who treated her body (and fans) like sh1t anyway. Get some perspective!

Amy Winehouse clearly had serious problems that she never really got on top of. Fame to a person with her flaws and insecurities is nothing but toxic. From day one there seemed to be very little confidence there and I doubt she ever truly understood how talented she was. I don't prescribe to the idea that if someone with a serious drug and/or alcohol problem dies, they don't deserve any respect or pity. That seems to be the view of many people.

I think you will find I share my opinion with the majority of other adults who were taught right from wrong and know when to have respect.

Everyone has problems and slagging someone off on the day they have died is wrong.

I am not going to get into a slanging match as you quite rightly said you are entitled to your own opinion.

She didn't have any respect for her fans that paid to see her.

Respect is earned - I can't think of much she did to earn any. She was fortunate enough to heve been given a talent and she abused that like everything else.

Sad for anyone to die at such an age, but there are millions of people who deserve my respect, and she isn't one of them.

I understand that it is sad, and a tragedy for her family especially, but perspective is needed.

It must really pee off all those talented musicians and singers that never get that lucky break, (and there is a hell of alot of luck involved in making it in the music business, I was in it for 10 years) who turn up to every gig, perform to the best of their ability and really put their heart and soul into it, then Amy winehouse and Pete Doherty get loads of publicity for taking drugs, cancelling gigs, going to court, being aggresive and offensive, and go on to make millions of pounds and world fame.

This lifestyle is glamourised by the media and kids think it is cool, I have known 2 heroin addicts, 1 is dead, the other was on the road to death, and their is nothing cool about being found after 3 days rotting in a bedsit.

Respect where respect is due, where was her respect for all those people in Belgrade that paid a weeks wages for tickets?

I wasn't slagging her off just giving my honest opinion, I am not a sentimental person, I am logical and calculated, thats me.

I thought we were having an adult debate, I had no intention of deliberately offending anyone.

I'm not making my comments based on the fact she had drug problems, I know a lot of people with drug problems. I make my comments based on the fact she was a waste of space.

Lets not forget the majority of people with drug and drink problems turn to them because they have major problems in their life or more often then not aren't in a position to change things around. Amy Crackhouse turnt to drink and drug abuse to create an image and help her career. She had things the majority of people can only dream of and had all the resources possible to help her with her problems. She glamourised a world that she herself could easily escape, but few of her fans who may have been influenced by her could. So no she doesn't deserve any respect
