I've got a few Edinburgh geo names, and know that companies such as yell and ufindus have thousands, which they are renting out based on the exact name factor.

To geo domain owners - does it worry you google might just say "fuck it he/she has xxx domains dominating these categories based on their keyword relevance this is an unfair monopoly" and do a mass drop of them?

Obviousely it is cheaper to rank a geo minisite as opposed to a single page attached to a massive site, so which route are you choosing and are you worried or is it just me?

Depends on your strategy - I know which one I would want to cashout via.

imho I would say if you want anything to last long term then minisite must become 'proper' website at some stage. Based on your edinburghaccountants.org.uk if you finish it, it's going to become more than a minisite and probably be ok.

At the end of the day its all about fodder... :D

I'm more thinking about the Big G spotting, either via webmaster tools or same WHOIS that you've got lots of geo names and so have a monopoly?

If you can, a hub-and-spokes model might be the way to go... The hub (megasite) would be on Placename.co.uk and each spoke (i.e small site) would be on PlacenameKeyword.co.uk. The spokes link to the hub and vice versa but not to each other.

They tend to block you if your using black hat seo tricks more,(cloaking, doorway pages, blogging, automatic content generators etc) not sure if "hub spoke" would be construed as a doorway page, landing page etc? They sometimes change/tweak the algorithm’s with keywords which means site disappear's its not blocked thats much more common,

Some people don't use there tag…? or put Christian, Surname and middle name, in different orders use friends and family names, , PO Box’s etc ;) The odd charity site helps limit damage, If you give the information people want it’s unlikely google will bother, Content can be key ? But everyone can have bad days…?

If they do and it’s a first offence a grovelling email, jump through there hoops can help, creating sites more around other search engine criteria(are there any lol)Will help keep a income coming in....

I have (as you may know people) the .co.uk HullLocal and have 100's of Hull mini sites all linking back to it (yes as a HUB) Loads still to do on that and the mini sites but "I will get there..."

I Also have many other cities inc Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburugh, Glasgow. Leeds etc

Few examples that could be turned into websites for clients as the theme will allow it quite easy and are growing with page rank and G positioning.

HullDoors.co.uk
Hull-Pestcontrol.co.uk
HullScaffolding.co.uk
HullBeds.co.uk
HullBedrooms.co.uk

Worried hmm no as I really do think they will look at them individually and think more sites will be in the firing line for other issues before this type.

I do think if it's an active site, with regular content G won't even consider rubbishing them, but on the other hand, we shouldn't all depend on the big G as we will get burnt some how some day.
