Cardiff.co.uk is a badly developed site, as I'm not web designer.
Even so, it gets around 17,000 page views a month... gets 90% of traffic from people typing cardiff.co.uk into address bar. Gets 10% from search. i.e MSN for 'cardiff restuarants'.

Sorry Matt, but with a few more pounds in your paypal account, you will not be able to buy a city name.. As a guide, Leicester.co.uk was up for private auction 4 months ago with a reserve of 20k.

If you do, then let me know - I'm quite happy to eat my words!

That's an interesting valuation rule of thumb.

I only have a few small towns - wallingford.co.uk, lampeter.co.uk etc. Guessing they would be worth about £1k each on your valuation which I would more or less agree worth. London could be worth about £300,000 which seems perhaps a bit high so perhaps not a linear relationship.

What do you think about value of geo .org.uk - my main one of interest is northernireland.org.uk.

Graph not necessarily linear... may flatten off, this is just I guide I have in the back of my mind. Value of London.co.uk? Who can say... It's not a .com, but Tommy Butler turned down $750,000 for Glasgow.com

No, I don't have a web design business (at least, an outwardly facing one - I build my own sites but that's as far as it goes), and I only list my own domains not 3rd party ones - it's just a brochure site to showcase my names...

Or if you're talking about Cambridge.co.uk rather than my domain site, it's a "real" area guide i.e. a destination site that I've been working on, on and off, for several years... with decent-ish traffic in its own right, and the web design firm highlighted there is run by friends of mine.
