Has anyone had experience of changing the legal entity that 'owns' their Nominet account?

I'm trying to change it as my business partner (my Dad) has retired. After first being told I needed to send a letter and copy of his ID, I've now been told to change it I have to re-apply and repay a new £400+vat joining fee plus annual membership.

To change our bank account, we just had to sign a form

They no longer allow it, since 2017/18ish I think.

I changed from Limited Co to sole trader. Had to rejoin and cough up another £400+ !!

They did allow a smooth transition where the tags/domains etc had no downtime.
