For the purposes of this discussion I want to EXCLUDE Google Adsense! What I would like to know is which contextual ad networks do you use aside from Google Adsense and what level of success have you had with them? What are the upsides, downsides, pitfalls with their systems etc?

Rich

I still use QuickLinks as it compliments Adsense, although it peaked early on it still generates over £1k a month for me. You can see it on the right on this tattoo page.

Plus:
It compliments Adsense and runs along side it wihtout replacing it
It looks natural and is contexual

Negatives:
Takes 2 clicks to get paid
Payment is 45 days after the end of the first month

Thanks for the reply Scott... I assume by 'takes two clicks' you mean its similar to a Google link bar? One click to an ad search/disply page and the second is the ad click on that page...

Do they have other options aside from link bars? i.e. actual 'straight through' contextual ad units with text?

I suppose I should have said in my original post that I DO need a replacement to Google Adsense in any case as I can no longer use GA... Does anyone else have any suggestions? Has anyone had any success using Adbrite?

Yes they do a contextual PPC alternative to Adsense so you can contact them for that.

I use AdBrite, the revenue not quite as good as google.

The only downside I have found thus far is I think you have to create a channel (like in adwords) for each website, you can't just slam the code onto a page.

I think this is because people can buy Advertising DIRECTLY for your site, so you can target an individual websites traffic. So you need to have the right code for each site.

I only signed up 2nd August and currently have it on half dozen quite nothing with more than 100uv/500pv a day and its earning a few quid a day so not all bad.

1 Interesting feature is you get Paid twice on a full page ad, you get paid just for showing the fullpage and again if they click on it.

I tried Miva they are too slow to do anything, I got bored waiting after a week for them to approve my urls.

I've been playing with the Chitika premium stuff for US traffic and it seems to work quite well
