HI,

I am using Watch My Domains ISP to lookup domains, I cannot seem to get the DAC to work.

I'm using dac.nic.uk
port 2043

Not sure if anything else needs tweeking.

Can you ??

I may be stating the obvious here, but you need to be a member of Nominet in order to use the DAC. You also need to pay a DAC subscription and pre-authorise your IP address with Nominet.

Have you done all these things? If not, no worky :(

Telnet to dac.nic.uk on port 2043 i.e:

telnet dac.nic.uk 2043

If your IP address has not been registered to access the DAC an error message will appear and the connection will be dropped.

If the connection does not drop then your IP is authenticated to use the DAC.

Try typing a uk domain name, e.g

google.co.uk

If your DAC is working you will get back a line showing various info about the current state of the domain.

Mark.

I spoke to the developer about it and since he doesn't have DAC access, they added the feature without being able to test it

I use Available Domains Pro to do what you need, it's not expensive and has full support for the DAC plus you can use it for other things.

The (aff) link is to a trial version, its $50 odd dollars to buy it.

I too have contacted Softnik with no joy at all.
