Did everyone go broke?

Can you please not spam general board with your domains aswell??

I believe the answer to the title of the thread is yes.

Not so much broke just less names of interest and people commanding higher prices as they are making less sales.

For example a member offered me a name 3 months ago for low XXX but it was borderline to my project but the project shift footing that way and now the seller wants mid-xxx. My assumption is sales are slower thus less money coming in, which has resulted in credit card responses or putting prices up. Which baffles me.

I assumed supply and demand, ie more buyers higher prices less buyers lower prices. However many sellers have concluded because they are not selling as many the prices go up to compensate.

Another example an LLL was 3k 6 weeks ago, now they want 5k.

Did i miss us coming out of recession or have i missed my dose of crazy pills ?

If you want to sell prices need to go down not up.

Totally agreed unless your mr Owen or Leeroy ;)

Very very true! I've adjusted many of my prices, but there has been far less interest in the last couple of month. I know I have better quality domains on offer now than 3 or 4 months ago, so my perception is that there are a great deal fewer buyers in the market. Maybe it's just in the lower end of the market?

So you know if there's a domain of mine you like, then there's a deal to be done!! ;)

My perception is that the market for £xxx domains has gone very quiet, there aren't many buyers around at all.

For every one hundred emails I'm sending, I'm getting interest back but yes some are low and wasting my time, maybe I need to start putting a sale pitch and explanation in the emails. Your company's name is, your field of business is, that's why blah blah. £55 this afternoon, £9500 two weeks ago, pendragon did £2500 from an email sent, if on the right wavelength, I'm awaiting a £1500 or below reply by the weekend. It's just a pain, I sent loads of emails out on cc this time and im not sure they all went out via hotmail, may send them invidually. Can't do read receipts on hotmail as far as I know.

Why wouldn't you be doing a sales pitch already? Surely that would have a good effect on your sales prices?

How come you are sending your sales mail out via hotmail? Would it not be better sending from a non free account?

I'm not saying you would get more enquiries but at minimum It would look a bit more professional.

It might do, I find people that aint clued up get a bit confused when you give them too much information and would just disregard the email. So I just state, do you want it?

Spam management is very good on hotmail, all other accounts I ever had with hosted companies get over run with spam and over time becomes increasingly difficult to find the emails you wish to read. Bloody domainers emailing me with domains they have for sale (sarcasm.)

You should set yourself up with 1 email address and use it only for direct emailing to potential companies and nothing else.

To me, hotmail means either cheap, spam or potential scammer.

The gf is happy and we'll be at the beach at the weekend, I don't work a lot but I do when I need to shift them, sent 150 emails for luxuryfireplaces.co.uk and got one interested (told them £500 - awaiting yes or offer) and one thanks but not interested, don't even know if the others got read, so I'll resend them individually tomorrow just to check. I'll pick another domain tomorrow and get enquiries out. I may do one before going to sleep. It aint easy, it's worth it if pays off though.
