Have you tried contacting 123reg? They obviously won't give you any information about the owner but they might pass on an email for you.
That was my next port of call, but 123reg is such a big company nowadays I wasn’t sure where to begin. was hoping 123 reg offered some kind of brokerage but they don’t seem to, sadly
if you goto thw whois and scroll to the bottom, click on the Technical RDAP Response tab then scroll back up you will see the "eventActor" You can work out who that is on here then. I dont want to post it here just incase. Paul
