It makes me wonder when you have threads with names for sale and statements such as "I dont have time to offer stats for them all sorry" or "here are some domain names in Spanish for sale" without any translation of what the names mean in English.
I'm quite sure that if people put some effort into "selling" their names that (a) they would sell them and (b) actually achieve something nearer the prices asked.

hahah you make me laugh..ok say if i was selling 20 domains and i got 100 people wanting stats, that would take up more time thus i would want more for them, hence putting that. At the end of the day i dont need to sell them i am just giving other the opportunity to buy them for development as i am fully booked for the next few weeks/months. If people want them they are there if not no worries :)

Then again if you wanted to sell your domains http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/uk-do...stmas-coming-lettersfromsantaclaus-co-uk.html you would put a fixed price instead of saying offers invited.

Practice what you preach......

Market for all

I think you are both right. I remember selling one of my let properties, i didn't even bother doing it up prior to selling even though this is how my landlords make money. Time is limited so you have to specialise, paullas felt that his approach was right for him because his time was better spent on something else.

yes lee, people do have different ways or time and selling domains. If i get the odd enquiry i will get stats :0 but if i get hammered (hopefully :) ) sorry i dont have time.

Nothing against anyone...I am just quickselling.....

Personally; if I was selling a 'website' as going concern and quoted income it was receiving, then quite rightly I'd be expected to supply stats. If I'm selling a domain name, then that's what I'm selling...Just a name!

Not the stats, just the name. If someone wants it, then they obviously have their own plans, and whatever traffic it currently receives should have no bearing on how they wish to promote or develop it.

Obviously if the 'name' receives good - massive amounts of traffic, and I wanted to use that as a selling point to attract potential customers that's all well and good.

couldnt have put it better myself :)

If you have the stats readily available quite simple to put against domain name in the thread then you do not have to answer 100 enquiries individually.
It is accepted practice in all forms of selling to accept offers or a fixed price,

i didnt mention anything about prices.

Using your quote above then
Post your offer here for what domain

If you ask for stats, the seller doesn't want/ can't be bothered, then you decide whether to bid/ buy on that basis. I wouldn't generally buy without stats, but some names 'sell themselves' on their 'as is' quality without stats being required. Anyway, stats can be manipulated.

mind you mibut, looking at your domains you need to supply stats to sell them.

Seriously though if i get a good enquiry or offer for a name and the sale will only go through on stats i will happy supply them. but when i get 'what are you looking for and send me stats' then no sorry i havent the time.

Any domains that i have offered for sale have had stats if available.
Not all domains are parked or have a site.
but when i get 'what are you looking for and send me stats' then no sorry i havent the time.
misses the point.
At time of listing then include if available, as your own post in the sticky for the UK sales thread says.

Have fun mate.........

Why does nearly every thread have to descend into a slanging match? Doesn't do much for the credibility of the UK domaining community.

Stephen.

because people have nothing better to do im afraid now. Also people can not compete against others.....

I didnt intend for this to turn into a slanging match, just pointing out a couple of things.
It seems odd to me that a moderator on this forum flames someone for pointing out something that he had done which is completely opposite to what he has posted in a "sticky".
I also have no reason to compete against anyone.
I very rarely sell domains, I buy and develop, thats how i earn my money full time.
Sometimes like most people on here i have a moment of madness and buy something which later I have no wish or desire to develop. Then i try and get rid. If i have stats then they are posted, as also is the domain name in the title thread
Sorry paulas but you are supposed to be the"kindergarten cop" on here but instead of looking at things in a constructive manner you have turned it into a slanging match.
