Wanted: Service Domain Valuations

Hi,

I need to get some good quality domain valuations carried out, and one of my initial thoughts was to contact one of the top brokers at Sedo who specialise in .uk domains.

Sounds like a plan, but does someone like this exist - and if so, who are they?

This is a serious request, so if anyone has some really useful ideas, that would be appreciated.

Possibly some on here know of some very good .co.uk brokers who would be willing to help too.

It shouldn't be tricky to provide evidence that some of my domains are valuable, but some help in knowing the best way to support this would be appreciated.

I wouldn't waste your money. There's no way you'll get a "definitive" answer, from Sedo or anyone else. And my experience with Sedo valuations in the past has been all over the shop.

A domain is worth the lowest price that the registrant will accept at a time when there’s a buyer willing to pay that price, anything else is pure guess work.

Following a credible valuation for anything, it should achieve close to the figure given, in a brief publicised sale, allowing for market changes over time.

The cash value of a domain is what it would realise on DL, or a Sedo type auction. This typically limits the scope to investors or resellers in a short timeframe, and mostly disappointing prices (from a seller's POV).

There are several factors which potentially add value in a domain sale. Efforts to promote it, and the length of time it is offered for sale, will help to achieve the best price.
