I'm pretty sure Nismo is right in that two letter .uk domains can't be transferred. But as a good citizen I've just sent them an email reminding them to renew it.

very intersting :)

Hmm yes, another one bites the dust. Could have done with that one as by pure coincidence started a new business called "FL" !

I had a good chat with the owner of that one today, he mentioned the emails that he had received telling him to renew it. :)

The renewal script threw up some interesting errors with a two letter and needed some 'tweaking' though. :(

I'm puzzled by this - fl.co.uk is owned by (what is now) a dissolved company.

So I'm puzzled as to how this company can instruct their ISP to renew the domain name?

From what I gather, the original company that owns fl.co.uk was taken over by another (a french company called Siticom Ltd), so effectively it is still trading although not under the original limited company.

DG, you posted this a while back

"FL (sm) are now offering various services in the Internet and Domain Name sector. Please see our website at http://www.mobilephones4u.co.uk/FL

Thanks
DG"

So are you DG ??? as FL.co.uk is now registered to DG? and that post suggests you are offering a new service.
