Brrrrrrrrrrr it's blinkin' chilly outside, here comes winter, grey, grim, dim, overcast, drizzle and oodles of rain, nothing like a cheerful start to set off your new posts on another discussion forum. :D

My name is Mark, owner of SkyHighPhotographs, an elevated photography business operating in the westcountry of the UK.

With the evenings rapidly drawing in, and the days getting shorter and the traditional quieter time of the year for elevated photography, a colleague at UKBF (UkBusinessForums) kindly sent me the link to this place.

Looking forward to conversing with some of you, exchanging views etc.

Just started out buying a few domain names, which JeeWhizz ever so kindly and succinctly pointed out on UKBF were a load of rubbish, although I tend to disagree with him.:p

Helpfully though, he did point me in the direction of this place, and gave me a few good tips on what constitutes a cracking good name, so I look forward to learning more about this 'industry'.

All the best and kindest regards.

Mark

Oops, following tradition, some of my domains.

Best: yachtingsupplies.co.uk (for sale)

pot1.co.uk (for sale) (snooker related)

potone.co.uk (ditto) (ditto)

pot147.com (ditto) (ditto)

skyhighphotographs.co.uk (my business website)

england-villages.co.uk (website for sale 1600 pages)

englandvillages.co.uk (keeping)

Worst? Don't know, maybe these, intended for an online travel shop / business / agents:

gaddingaround.com
gaddingaround.co.uk

gaddingabout.com
gaddingabout.co.uk (all four are for sale)

All names registered with Weycrest.co.uk

Of the names that are for sale, offers are invited, with the snooker ones being advertised elsewhere presently too.

Welcome to acorn :)

Which type of westcountrier are you devon or cornish?! :)

The right side of the Tamar River, Celt through and through.

Never an Anglo Saxon.:p

Actually, just found this morning a load of short snappy generic names available, darn annoyed my credit card is maxed out, else I'd go on a buying spree, take my chance with several of them.

Any offers forthcoming on yachtingsupplies.co.uk would be appreciated, so I can reinvest. Noticed that plumbingsupplies recently sold for 6 thou'.

Don't all roll up at once.:)

Good to hear you have the internet down there now :) *ducks*

Spent lots of time Liskeard / Looe way :)

Liskeard? That's way upcountry mate!;)

Very pretty around Looe though, prefer Polperro next door, got some beauty photographs there of the inner harbour using my aerial photography equipment back in May. Stunning place.

Broadband, yep, about 7.2mb on average, helps that GoonHilly is next door, earths largest satellite receiving station.

7.2mb!! I'm lucky to get a meg! There's so much noise on my line that 2 meg drops out constantly! :(

Rich :)

Hi Skyhigh

welcome aboard matey, nice selection of names, gaddingaround? not familiar with that term (does it mean messing about?).

Cheers ya UglyGit. Never heard of gadding about? Blimey.

Someone does a lot of travelling, it's called gadding about, as in they're gadding around a bit.

If you need any more word tips, feel free to ask, I do a fair bit of conversational copywriting (don't bother trying that one, I've got it:))

Is there a place on this forum I can go for newbie answers to questions btw please, only I'm overloading my mind with too much information at present from all you experienced guys, and getting in a right muddle in my thought processes which I find particularly exasperating, and only leads me to get ever so cantankerous.:D

Cheers mate.
