Hi all,

There appear to be some VERY good domains on here. I myself don't have any real great ones, the best one I probably have is theiphonestore.co.uk which I'm looking to sell though dunno if I'll have much luck.

I will post a list of what I have soon and go from there I think.

Thanks,

Tony.

Welcome Tony.

"iPhone" is a trademark of Apple inc. No one will want to touch it. Be careful when registering domains relating to names and trademarks it can be asking for trouble. Also worth familiarising yourself with DRS.

All the best.

I thought about the possible trademark issues, but I have had it for many years now with no problems. I know there was a dispute with iPhone5.com but being that they had the name iPhone 5 as a trademark, I could see the dispute, whereas theiphonestore is more generalised whereby people could sell accessories etc.

Thanks for the advice,

Tony.

That's one of the main problems, you would be classed as "passing off", as the domain has no other use than as a store for selling iphones, which are trademarked, as such, they could quite easily prove that the domain was an abusive registration, meaning it would be taken from you in a DRS complaint.

Really? I know nothing about this it would seem lol. I only purchased it to sell accessories like bumpers and cases etc, not iPhones themselves. But, in saying that, there are hundreds of domains that I know of, even by large companies that could be subject to a DRS complaint.

Thanks,

Tony.

And there are hundreds of burglars who never get caught. Doesn't make burglary legal, nor can it be used as a mitigating argument when a burglar is caught.

Don't sweat over it Anthony - If it's unused (or just parked) it's probably unnoticed.

Nobody will want to buy it though (read some of the popular threads here on Acorn about TM infringement) you'll get the picture.
