Hi,
I have always had this passion on Domain name selling.
And i thought I would start now. :) I am 21 years old and im really eager to learn how this business works, I have a Couple of websites that are for sale, still waiting for sedo to Appraise them.

Just one curious question, For example i have the name OurFerrari.com just wondering is it worth anything? I have been reading alot of things on trademark issues so if someone can insight me with your knowledge. :)

thanks again.

I can tell you Ferrari WILL come knocking on your door and they don't back down, and they want paying just to go away.

They use studiobarbero.com and the man who handles their cases personally is http://icannwiki.com/index.php?title=Luca_Barbero.

I suggest dropping it and running away like a tiger is after you.

I really wouldn't even try it.

If you are not planning on making money off the Ferrari brand, and your going to use it yourself, you could try your luck but I wouldn't. For example various people use domains like "UsedFerrari.com" as a ferrari seller but anything aside from you personally being in that line of work, and I think your asking for it.

oh ok thanks for your help :(

I have another Domain which has EXTREMELY high search results of 56,600,000 searches of "This Names" per month on google. www.ThisNames.com and i was wondering how much do you'll think it can go for?

Hi

Raw number of search results aren't a good predictor of domain value, you need to take into account other factors, e.g. ad spend on the term.

Welcome :D

Acorn is a great place to receive and offer advice about domaining, it would seem you have already been offered some sensible advice and I would offer my own; listen to the advice you have been given;)

There is plenty of information on here about trade marks and the general rule of thumb is stay away from them unless you have very deep pockets.

Secondly valueing a name or site is much more indepth than simply looking at how many searches there are, again there is a lot of discussion on valuation and it makes interesting reading. The main point seems to be how much it is worth to you or a potential buyer as all valuations are subjective.

Welcome to acorn, get involved, read and enjoy!

Welcome mate - try to stay clear of TM domains and I probably wouldn't be paying SEDO for an appraisal. Domains are only worth what people are willing to pay for them - it is a really ambiguous market. If ever you want to know what a domain is worth, just ask for a free appraisal on here, DN Forum, Namepros, etc. You will find people on these forums that probably know more than some of the guys at SEDO!
