Could someone please explain how Namedrive actually works and how the money is earned ?. I know it sounds like a newbie question but to be honest ive always until now directed traffic to banners on web pages and want to see of there is much better pickings to be had from ND or whether its pretty much the same type of level of earnings just different source ?.

Hi DG,

I'll do this very briefly, I'm sure other people would like to chip in.

Basically, we syndicate Google advertising on your unused domains. You forward them to us, either via URL forwarding or DNS change and we service ads on them dependant on keywords and categories selected by you or us (if you want us to do it).
For every click made on your domain, we are paid by Google and we pay you a share, less our small percentage. Clicks can be anything from $ 0.01 (in very rare cases $0.005) to several dollars. The UK PPC market is one of the three highest-paying in the world and so the clicks normally nestle around 15-25 cents when all is said and done across any portfolio. I take it you have a rough idea of the traffic on your domains. You can reckon on a conservative RPM (Revenue per thousand) of anything from $20-50 (though the upper limit is open), so you can guesstimate how much parking could earn you.

Parking a domain is different to hosting your own banner ads or your own content as Google does not allow SEO or any other traffic to go to the site other than inherent type-in and existing search engine traffic. If you have already been hosting your own pages and carrying out SEO, then they may benefit from your work in this area in the past if you park them with us.
We allow you to put a 'for sale' link in the top right of your page if you're looking to sell your domains and this can even go to your own sales page if you have such a thing.
All of our services are free of charge and we charge no commission to sell your domains.
I believe that's it in a nutshell (not a very small one). I've PMed you the login details to my own shoddy account so you can have a snoop around and see what our member area offers you.
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'm sure people on the board will be happy to add anything I've missed out.

Whoa .. transfer to an external sale page ??
If that's possible, I missed the 'how-to' FAQ.
All hail if it's possible.

Ok. How to do it ?

Cheers.

Ed ,

thanks for the info. OK ,so if my daily stats at present on the domain are;
Commission earned £8.20 GBP
Sales 12
Leads 3
Clicks 139
Impressions 1,047
CTR 13.28%

is that likely to be exceeded by parking ,or about the same ?.

Hi DG,

For UK traffic, you can generally rely on the RPM being at least $20 and generally much higher across an entire portfolio. On a single domains, it can range as high as $1950 RPM, though this is normally not indicative! If it's a domain with UK traffic, then I would imagine that from 1047 views, you would come out at around $20-60. This is however also dependant on whether this is 1047 views or impressions. We count, as accurately as possible, unique views from individual users. Thus, if it is 1047 unique people coming to the site, we're set to do well. If it's 150 people coming to the site all making 10 impressions each, then we might struggle.
If you like, you can PM me the domain - or at least the industry area that the domain is in and I can have a look through our UK database to see what similar domains are achieving.

Hope you have a good Sunday evening.
