just been looking at a site my mate uses to get work from:
www.mybuilder.com
this site must make a fortune, tradesmen pay to quote for jobs.
just wondering what you think it would cost to build a site of this quality?

That is a well designed site, I hadn't seen this before.

If you had to ask a web development house to create this for you from scratch, I could see them charging £15k+ for it. How much the development costs really depends on how good your contacts are though and whether you have any knowledge yourself - it could be done for a lot less if you have skills, and a lot more if you don't have skills or contacts.

I just built something similar using a dev contact I have made in india. Probably about £400 - £500 quid but that is with me doing all the design and spec etc which saves a ton of time and as a result cash.

If you wanted a decent uk based company then I would say around £20k+

There are lots of scripts around for it, it's basically the same as getafreelancer.com and other webdesign freelance sites.

Type in getafreelaner clone, or whichever site / clone and you'll get someone to get you a ball park clone of it.

Itrends, yours working ok is it? I had trouble with mine.

Cheers

Interesting business plan. If they do not charge for posting how do they make money? Through material supplier partners? Then do the tradesmen shall buy material from partners?

....Nervermind I read the facq of 250GBP per trade :D

In theory you just need a freelance script to start you off but would have to sort the design and any code changes yourdelf:

ILance - Instant Marketplace

Edit....GW beat me to it :)

Thanks for the link Grant, never knew it was that easy.

I think that's sorted something out that I needed, but didn't want to deal with a freelancer.

Cheers buddy.

I'd check the price on that ilance script as it went up a fair whack a while ago, could be in $ four figures now for an unlimited user license.

Another alternative is radlance (do a google search) - cheaper, similar features but the templates need a LOT of work to make it look nice.

I did a lot of research into freelance scripts a while ago and these two seemed the best.

Can anyone recommend a script for a conventional job board, with the usual C.V. matching and feed processing etc? I have spent a fair amount of time looking around for a decent one, but haven't managed to find anything decent yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

P.

A recent member was looking for people with job domains to run a white label job affiliate program they was running, but I can't remember who, maybe worth searching for them.

No, I think it may have been domain angel.

I just been looking for it myself.

It was by a regular poster, who asked if anyone had any job domaons lay around do nothing, or to that effect.
