Hi everyone

I am interviewing Go Daddy's CEO Warren Adelman over the next week. My interview is going to be focused on the UK market and I would like to include some Q&As, from UK domainers, in the interview too.

If you would like to ask a question please feel free to drop me a line. I will also be providing a link back from the interview if I use your question.

My email is gary (at) 3ac.co.uk

Please feel free to drop me a line with your question(s) and the website you would like a link back to

Best

Gary

Does he wear a mask when he sells .mobi names , or a clown outfit?

Link to rob.co ta.

That'll be New - Godaddy (Active) in the Uk market.

I'm fortunate enough to have an (Com) Account manager at Godaddy (which makes - the occasional Godaddy pain worthwhile)

As A Question, I'll be interested to know why Godaddys sudden interest in the UK market ? After all, we've been around awhile. Could it be to 123-reg's demise - I wonder

When I sold Vouchers.mobi I was just in my underpants :D

.co or .co.uk do you mean? I'm sure he'll love that question

Change of terms and conditions, allowing registrars to keep .uk domains if they are not renewed probably has a big part to play ;) I doubt they will say that though.

Bunch of hype merchants that cost idiots, sorry, speculators, whoops... investors ... money.

.co indeed.

rob.me , or was it rob.tv ? Anything will do ;)

Or, go with Rob.pro as according to 123 Reg that would mean I am a 'verified licenced professional'. Shame you are not doing it with their CEO, as I would have asked if that certificate is drawn in pencil or crayon !

I don't disagree with that - they certainly make better resellers than just about any other outlet (which could build the value of holdings)

Interesting developments in the UK field ahead then Rob. When do you see the "inhouse retaining" coming into play - or is it already scheduled

Some already do it ;)

Not a question but a comment - I'm not interested in managing my uk domains through godadddy but do occasionally use them when buying .coms when they are already registered there. However I find that transfers are slow, updating nameservers can take days and their dashboard is confusing - so much stuff i don't want, need or understand. I'd use name.com every time - better customer service and cheaper!

You read like your having one of my bad days Rob - Knock-off time

Assuming they are looking to expand in the .uk market, don't make the mistake so many other registrars do - make the transfer system in and out easy, remove domains once they have been transfered, don't charge renewals for dropped/transfered domains, make sure the customer services team have a full understanding of nominet and the way .uk domains work etc etc

Vizzo -Godaddy as never had the faintest of interest in co.uk domains. - I still doubt that is about to change You'd have to spend 20 mill £ just to get/see "Godaddy" (As a Company Name) as not being Drug-related to a UK audience

Nope, too many threads on here with people wasting cash on rubbish thats hyped.

I think its wrong when people or companies hype something they have a personal interest in but pass it off as something else.

There are companies and individuals who do this, and people lose proper money on it.

Not a bad day, just a couple of these thread popping up close together :)

Warren Adelman is their CEO

If you mean the infamous Dr. Bob Parsons, he the Founder/non-exec Chairman now and and was "unavailable" which is a real shame, but oh well, maybe next time.

Thanks for the contributions, I am now finished with the interview questions

Will post the interview on here when it's live!

Reread what I wrote , didn't mean Mr Parsons! :)

Might be interesting to ask if they plan to become direct Nominet members rather than reselling for Key Systems. It also might be worth asking if they plan to train their first line staff better on dealing with .UK domains (understanding tag changes etc).

That's a really interesting point Darren thanks for bringing that up.

I have actually submitted the interview already, however I will try and see if I can squeeze it in

Can you PM a link you want me to include so I can credit you in the article if I can get it in the interview?

Let me know
