Day 1 my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.70 something
Day 2 my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.58
Day 3 my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.33
Day 4 (today) my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.22

I don't understand whats happening, is this a bug?

Hi,

It really depends on the traffic and performance of your domains. It also depends on the days of the week. Monday and Tuesday are normally stronger than the rest of the week. If you send a mail to [email protected], we'd be happy to look into it more closely for you.
There is also the famed Google SmartPricing to contend with by which Google assess the conversion of each domain name and prices the advertising on it according to its performance. If they find the domain isn't converting very well for their advertisers, they may reduce the PPC.

Hi Ed,

I apologise if I didn't make myself clear the first time, I can understand PPC changes, but I cannot understand why my revenue portfolio totals (greyed area) is rising and then dropping. I've sent [email protected] an email this morning.

You know they are per day numbers...and that the grey area is just the last day that the update occurred for? i.e the grey area is just the total for the day that's greyed...

So...

"Day 1 my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.70 something
Day 2 my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.58
Day 3 my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.33
Day 4 (today) my portfolio (greyed area) is £1.22"

...equates to a total of £5.83 for the first four days - your total is not going down, its monotonically increasing each day.

Nick.

my monthly stats are showing as £1.22 for august
selecting date range from 1st august to 22nd august is showing £1.28
somethings afoot

Ed,

I've just sent an email to info@namedrive asking them to have a look at the problem, figure now stands at £1.26 (folder totals =£1.23 , popup totals =£0.02)

Is the system guessestimating your revenue per click at 10 cents - and when the real data from Google comes in for T+1d, its revising that number down to say, 3 cents per click, and as a result your totals are reducing?

Maybe post a couple of screen dumps, of a couple of days where the change has occurred? Obfuscate (shoe-horned another good word in for you bb!) any personal data on it before posting, or just crop out everything but the daily lines + total.

Hi Njf,

Good idea, I'll gather some screenshots, once I have a few showing the changes I'll post them up.

Hi UG,

Please send me a mail with any screenshots as, if there's anything that needs looking at on a bug side, it'll have to go through me first anyway.
Thanks.

Ed

Hi Ed,

Funnily enough every since the dos attack my revenue has steadily increased, no drops have occured as yet (fingers crossed).

just an update on this peeps, it has happened again where my revenue (green text in grey area) has dropped. I've emailed billing and ed with screenshots taken. I think there maybe a bug in their system, people with a lot of domains & traffic may not see the change but for the small guys like me starting out we get to see the small changes.

I suggest you reread this thread.

You have already been told twice what the problem is.

I'm looking at the figures cumulatively not per day, see the pics below

pics 1nd & 2nd show cumulative difference within the month of august

pics 3nd & 4nd show last months cumulative figures , pic 3nd for the month of August shows £2.40 and pic4 (take today for august) shows £2.36

date and time are expressed within the filenames

Your revenue is in US $'s but you are displaying it in GB £'s. The displayed value will depend on the exchange rate on the day you are viewing it.

NameDrive calculates all parking revenue in dollars, as Google, our advertising partner, uses this currency exclusively for all transaction and reports. However, we give you the option to view your earnings in Euros. By clicking the button to the right, you will toggle all earnings and PPC values in your account to display a Euro amount based on today's exchange rate.
You can revert your choice by selecting "US Dollar" at any time.

thanks Fred,

you are a genius.

this has been bugging me for weeks, I thought there was something screwy going on, and all along it was the exchange rate.

now all that remains is my missing revenue from the payout summary ( I know its lower than the threshold but it should still display it, right ?)
