Our renewals advertising campaign starts on Monday 11 August and will be
running in print and online media through August and September.

The focus of the campaign is to raise renewal rates by encouraging
registrants to think about the value of their domain name and to use their
registrar for all aspects of domain maintenance and renewal.

All of the advertising will carry the URL Nominet - Why is it so important to renew your domain name? and this
microsite is now live. More information about this microsite and examples
of the print and online advertising materials is available at
Campaign Resources

Good or bad for business?

This is the kind of crap someone comes up with when they have too much money and no competition. Next we will, wipe your own a### campaign.

What the hell has this got to do with nominet?

They are getting like local government, run by people that would be bankrupt in the private sector.

Nom staff are good on the end of the phone though, I must give them that.

not really impressed - another idea thought up dow the pub, put together by some overpaid muppets..

not happy about making it public

Funny

Nominet's keepyour.co.uk advert is apearing in threads all over this forum including this one.

Kinda ironic really given some of the target audience on this forum.

Of course I had to click through on the ad to have a quick look - I'd suggest others might like to follow the links and have a quick look also - for infomational purposes only of course! ;)

Regards,

Sneezy.

if you have time to visit that site, you have time to renew your domain name in the first place...

couldn't agree more....................

isn't this a big part of this industry? People forgetting to renew them, us catching em and selling them on.............................

grrrr

Most big registrars automajically renew anyway so... erm

May be the fear that the domain markets are gonna crash due to the introduction of potentially thousands of new TLD's is making people renew their stuff less and someone's losing money

Like I said in the second post of this thread, what on earth has this to do with nominet?

I could understand it if they were camelot and got an email saying "have you bought your ticket this week?"

Camelot = Profit making entity = Earn more tickets = Earn more profit
Nominet = Non Profit Making = Renew more domains = More Non Profit

I mean if they are strugling to spend the money in nom's pot, then why don't they buy some lazyboys for the office or something and out get people's faces.

If they want to speed up domains from being unused why not drop the 90 + days, fail to renew on day and bang the cillit's gone.

Well my names already dirt at nom anyway, so nothing to lose from ranting again. :-D
