I own this domain, and am wondering how much to try to sell it for? It's a pretty niche name, but growing in "trendiness" to the point where maybe a supermarket would pay big money for it?

In case you don't know - it means "A locavore is someone who eats food grown or produced locally..."

Thanks for any advice!

Never heard of the term but, it's a bad, bad sign to see those words "would pay big money" in your wording

Nice speculative purchase.

I hadn't heard of it either however a good few other extensions taken, with the .com showing a site that proudly declares"LOCAVORE is the 2007 Word of the Year for the Oxford American Dictionary!" (only in America lol)

I think it may be a long time b4 locavore is a commonly used or known word however I see you've started the ball rolling with a site ( i was going to say put up a directory site listing local grown produce to towns/cities and see what traction you get).

It would be helpful if a journalist coined it in an article that was published to the masses to help get it visibility. It may just be that it hasn't got legs though ....

Good luck with it ( and don't hold your breath for someone wanting to give you your retirement nest egg for the domain).

Put up a page on the domain with a means of contacting you, cross your fingers and hope. It's pretty speculative, but I could see a sale based on the "trendiness", more to a web development outfit than a major supermarket.

Rgds

I don't think you'd get much for it at the moment, but if you hang on to it it might increase in value?

I'd never heard of it either, don't know how much it would catch on. Might work well as a forum but can't really see a supermarket going for it.
