Does anyone have experience of using netflix or ilovefilm?

If so, what quality downloads? HD SD can you get 3D?

Currently with SKY and as the DD now seems to be in 3 figures I was wondering what alternatives are out there?

All help appreciated :)

Out of the two, lovefilm offer more (Ive tried both)

However ive been thinking about nowtv, its powered by sky and is a little more expensive than netflix and lovefilm but they claim to have films 12 months earlier.

I've got nowtv and lovefilm. I'm not sure what quality they stream at but they're both definitely good quality.

Nowtv basically gives you all the sky movie channels. Most titles are available to stream when you want and you can also stream the channels live. They were also offering newer titles for rent but they've removed that option for some reason.

lovefilm have many more films on their site but they are generally much older than nowtv, not neccesarily a bad thing though as I've spent many an hour watching 70's horror films :)

They've both got free trials I think.

Oh, and I haven't seen any 3D titles on either, haven't really been looking for them though.

Get netflix and unlock the US version google to find out how :)

I've tried both and ended up going with LoveFilm.

Lovefilm interface much better. Movies on Lovefilm better, and I would have said TV series on Netflix had the edge (found some great US series like The 4400 and Jericho).....but recently Lovefilm have added quite a few more series and episodes.

The negatives to Lovefilm I've found are:

- Not all TV series (may apply to films) can be watched on iPad (this may apply to Netflix too??);

- You can't watch on iPhone whereas you can on Netflix service;

I use lovefilm: generally no issue with streaming even when its HD the can be a good selection of good films and series. There are some poor ones also *personal taste*
Also use blink box but I sometimes have buffering issues on films I've rented, from what I remember the customer support blamed this on the Samsung TV software.

I have both at the mo. LoveFilm is much better.

If you connect to Netflix using a USA VPN you can view the USA content too.

The best way to view Netflix other geolocations is to get a SmartDNS ($4 a month) from http://www.overplay.net uses your own internet speed unlike a VPN that can be a bit slow from time to time.

I use the service myself for another geoblocked video site and It's been great!
