Hello,

We own the web site My Old House - www myoldhouse co uk - and we are currently looking for a buyer to take the site over.

My Old House was launched in 2003 with the aim of helping people find old neighbours, find out information about the houses and communities they have lived in or may be moving to, and allow them to document these properties and record memories of their time there.

The site is intended to build a historical archive as told by those who have lived through our times and provide a 'time capsule' for people of the past and present to communicate with those of the future with a snapshot of their lives in a particular house or community.

As a company that operates in a number of areas, we have not been able to give the site as much attention in recent years as we would have liked to have done. We feel it is in the best interests of the site, the users and the existing content (user submitted memories and photographs) if we find another company to continue the work.

The site has been praised many times over the years, with honours such as Radio 2 web site of the day (and a mention in Miles Mendoza's web guide book), Daily Mirror web site of the day, etc plus numerous articles have been written about the site including articles in the Times, The Mirror and The Sun. My Old House has also been featured on national daytime television and received extensive coverage on local radio stations across the country. We are linked to from sites such as the 1901 census site and the manually edited Yahoo Directory.

The user base of the site - which is in the tens of thousands - is made up of people interested in social history and the database of users would be useful to similar sites (genealogy, housing, social networking etc).

A full UK Data Protection Act compliant privacy policy has been in place since the site was launched, with the provision for the data to be sold to another company along with the sale of the web site.

For further details, please PM.

Thanks
John
