Hey all,

Would like some advice please? I bought a domain last night from DL called DentalCover.co.uk

I bought it late and am travelling so never got round to writing to the vendor. Thought I'd leave that for today. I work up as usual at 5am - but to see an email from DL telling me that the transfer was all complete.

Am I right in assuming the vendor transferred it to someone else?

WTF

I did write to Denys but am waiting to hear? How binding is DL - can I sue the vendor if he has in fact sold it to someone else? Does DL auctions, not constitute to a binding contract?

It's perhaps linked to the registrant details now being hidden by default on Nominet's WHOIS record (as far as I know, the notification from DL is automatic based on a change in registrant details).

The WHOIS record is showing the domain was last updated on 16-Feb-2018 so it's almost certainly not been transferred to someone else. :)

Suspect it is something to do with the GDPR changes; as the domain has been updated since Feb. Not sure how much is automated or not, and whether Denys is around at the moment, as I've seen the pre-bid domains still don't show caught from two days ago.

Almost certainly this. I imagine the checks for transfer of ownership are automated and with the WHOIS details all being made hidden this week the system has probably just detected it as having changed hands. Probably just needs a bit of tweaking by Denys.

Thank you all!!! I. think this post prompted the buyer to come forward.....

I really like this domain plus my mrs is a dentist - so sorta helps....

I had 2 sales at DL and just got the same message at the day of GDPR release, don't worry
