We caught 50+ domains for our clients today. Milestone. Not one of them has come forward and volunteered how wonderful we are. Wonder why?

what domains are they :) standard or A+

WISH I could say :)

Edit: Booked by clients (hosted or backorders) - not us. We don't catch for ourselves.

I only had one domain booked on your hosted DAC service today and didn't get it. It wasn't "A" grade either. So it's not "wonderful" for me. ;)

So, statistically, you lost out. Commiserations. Book with another catcher next time!

Book with another catcher next time!

I suspect the name in question was caught by another one of your hosted clients who got two other domains as well? LOADED was the TAG.

I've used Dale's PGP and EPP script for a while now. If anyone wants a personal opinion of the script and service, shoot me a PM and I'll fill you in...

Ive asked Dale many many times for examples of domains caught using his system so that I can evaluate it and make a judgement for myself.

12 months later and Im still to be told of one name caught.

I think this would be more to do with confidentiality on their part. This is good to see.

As an aggregate, DropSystem may get 50 names, however on an individual subscriber level, personal satisfaction will depend on where the winning wheel stops.

I would have thought querying the DAC for one domain would give me better odds, over others chasing a handful?

I'm still surprised to be told to take my business elsewhere.

Foz, you're speculating and providing incorrect information. LOADED is nothing to do with us. 50 names is not 'on aggregate' - it's 50 names. You might be a client of mine. Why not send me a PM and identify yourself?

Firestars, would you have me breach confidentiality? That's how tight we are - not even one name divulged.

Jesus - all I do is make an unimportant announcement and I'm dropped on from a great height?

:D

So far I have had 100% success rate with Dale and Simon on domains that I know were already booked at competitors services. Obviously this does not mean they are 'premium domains' but I think there were two very strong domains they caught for me.

Was waiting to post a comment on the success rate but some of the domains still haven't dropped :???:

Success and what you regard as good investment can be regarded as subjective things. It also depends on your strategy and the level of competitiveness for each domain that is dropping that will affect success rate.

Generic and premium domains go to a few, with top end scripts - this much can be seen by looking at the whois. These names will go for sale at £1000+. That said, there are plenty of two and three word, keyword rich domains that drop, which may go for sale at £100+ which still isn't a bad return on investment.

I guess you just need to be realistic about what you can and can't do with a publicly available service. Realistically, if you had developed a script that could contend for a LLL.co.uk or a one word generic domain, week in, week out, would you be selling the service or catching the names yourself? Again, a look at the whois suggests you probably wouldn't be selling it...

The speculation and misinformation is getting to be quite amusing ;)

My apologies.

The "s" on "clients" made me think aggregate.

My name is Garth.

Wasn't my intention, so sorry. You were asking why none of your clients had not come forward to declare how "wonderful" it was. At that particular point in time, I wasn't feeling that way. I did add a ;), as a light hearted gesture to the end of my comment.

Interesting thoughts.

That is indeed food for thought.

I would use the service if it wasn't "pay up front and get refunded if it fails" - do that a few times and the credit card firms get very shirty - or at least, that's been my experience with multiple refunds to my CCs in the past!

Lucky I don't use CCards

I currently 2 booked with them, hopefully it will be caught for me

I am happy with their service, fast response and refunded with no problems at all.

I do agreed that if it wasn't paid up front then it will get much more bookings.

If it wasn't paid upfront I would be booking 5-20 domains per day but as Edwin says thats a lot of cash to be paying out/refunding on a daily basis. Not that Im dissing your setup Dale of course :)
