I'm looking for good value reliable online backup service, mainly for emails and some key documents. Any recommendations please?

Thanks
Stephen.

Found Ubuntu One when I was playing around with Linux on my old netbook its served me well so far this year in uni to helps me keep all my files synced between the University network, the netbook, my Home windows PC more latterly my android tablet.

I use crashplan but instead of backing up to web servers I'm backing up for free to an external 2TB HD I have attached to my work PC.

Do full backup at home then take the drive in to work and attach to PC. Incremental backups are then done every day with the added bonus that if I have a failure I can simply bring the drive back home as opposed to trying to download gigabytes worth of data!

Never had any problems with Dropbox and it's handy there's an app for it too.

Haven't looked into external HDDs or software a great deal, but it seems a sensible idea to have an additional backup too. So, slightly off topic, but does anyone also know of good software that can automatically mirror the full contents of a laptop without needing to do manual backups? :)

Crashplan is good, Crashplan Pro Enterprise is excellent. You pay for the advanced features but to me backup is not something to be scrimped on when you earn your money from the info you have on your computer!
But then I might say that selling Crashplan ProE ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions and PMs. Didn't realise there were so many options!

Stephen.

Windows includes a backup tool or try Cobian Backup
