In the dotcom - I think it was a good price - for the buyer

Well I won't name him but offered someone looking for medicinal domains pain3.co.uk and got a message back [on my first day of joining], 'how dare you offer me this worthless domain'.

More or less coming to conclusion that what it goes for is what it was worth. Easier on the mind.

I don't understand, what is pain 3? Google isn't throwing up anything for me so what is different about this domain compared to say pain 4? So as it stands just now i do think you got a good price but maybe i'm missing something?

3=free

web short hand, well at least that's thinking behind it, not attempting to say this an absolute. But i'm fatigued by the idea it's a crime to invent things and concepts, that only what is already proven by google or whatever to be popular has any value or merit.

I agree with doodlebug :) good sale for the seller.

Just trying to have a larf with you and make some mates in here, no offence was taken. bless.

It's what I'd call a "lottery ticket" sale - your numbers happened to come up because a buyer hit on the brandable you'd thought up, but it was a verrrrry long shot.

Indeed it's a "brandable" and a very good one - I accept that 90% of acorners don't (for the want of a better word - understand) good brandable domains mostly because they don't feature very much in .co.uk sales or indeed desired by UK companies.

But they do play a big part in .com sales

Pain3.com as a domain - is indeed strong.
"pain relievers" are often made of three constituent parts - this will be the tagline for this particular domain with the double play on "pain free"

No offence intended but, You guys do make me laugh sometimes yet you all read the domain sales at DNJournal -It seems I can't tell you how good (a short) relevant domain is to its market.

Wow! Definitely nice for the seller, I wouldn't have even registered it for £5 had it been free! I do like brandables though, I just don't think its very good....each to their own I suppose...

Yes i also like brandables and I can definitely see the potential in a good one, this one personally doesn't do it for me, however well done on a good sale.

Perhaps a link between 3 and Free is more common in the states, but I've not really seen.

If so then can see the brandability, if not it's not something I can personally see, but OP did. Nice sale!

Just looked at the the website, he seems confident with it. But i'd priced it $1000 so would have been no room to negotiate higher. Learning this game at a rate of knots now, thanks for all your comments, bless.

Did you sell him the .com or were you offering him the .co.uk to complete his set?

Still got the .co.uk, but he said he wanted 4 more domains off me then stopped corresponding. Gonna try and shift the .co.uk to him today. I don't want it and no one here wants it either. Just pleased there's still some sort of market out there for brandables. It's my preferred area of domineering. Also Pain3.com came up $1000 on Estibot which I am finding overseas buyers are happy to go with whereas Pain3.co.uk is nowhere near that. But to be honest i'd shift it to him for a tenner if he wants so he can complete his suite. Just won't be telling him that to begin with.

Makes sense walkinDude, his got the .eu and also most of the English speaking Southern Hemisphere domains - pitching it at about $100 to $150 given the .com sale price, should close it

There's a great market out there for . com "Brandables" PROVIDING you've got a good head on your shoulders. The lesson i learnt is don't go looking through available lists but, rather brainstorm a wishlist. An evenings work will usually give me one .com. sometimes none. Dont settle for second best - ie a plural when the singular hits the 'sweet spot' or vis-a-vis. Another way I focus is to pick a certain Industry or product range for that evening (but quite surprisingly it's another industry development that quite often picks up on the name)

A couple of people here and on other boards are aware of how much 'Brandables' in .com have brought to me in the last five years and I for one am soooo grateful. Even a Couple ending in the number 3 - yep and nobody wants the .co.uk's Not even the .com buyers.

I've usually got between 3 and 5 domains in play (negotiations on and off ) at any one time - and thats the state of play today
