been playing around today making a site PaygCarInsurance

please can i have all thoughts
i am ready to be told its sh** start again!! ;)
more content need i know and on its way soon

thanks chaps

header space far too large,

personally i'd have a 'click for quote' button up at the top right somewhere, perhaps in place of the menu and move that to a more traditional place

A few more suggestions:

I'd rather use an external css (easier to stylize at one point) ...
I'd thought of the use of iframe (crawler does not monitor the content) ...
Details on the top and bottom of the page reminds me of the navigation buttons ...

The affiliate links like bike insurance, van insurance, etc, should be higher up the page.

Click Here For Your Quote should be higher up the page, and differentiated in terms of colour instead of in the same blue.

Rgds

cheers accelerator, i have moved the other insurance links up to the top, but the lower half is looking a little naked now, any ideas as to what i could fill the gap with?
i quite liked the look of the "click here for your quote"

I would say that the link to get a quote should land on the quote link on the merchant website. I shouldn't have to click "get quote" again once the merchant page has come up.

I'll be blunt, because it's pointless being anything but :)

The main issue I have with the site is that it just doesn't come across as trustworthy. It looks like it's been put together in MS Publisher as a hobby-project rather than being a professional company. I can't imagine I'd feel comfortable doing anything other than pressing the back button if I landed on the site looking to get new car insurance.

thanks for the feedback chaps.
im working on getting the "get a quote" fixed to the site instead of it taking you away

The first thing that strikes me is that you've used so many different fonts on one page. I'd stick to 2, max, for the homepage. And replace the title images with text.

Also, I don't really get the blue stripey bits at the top and bottom of the page, you look like you're trying to hide your privacy policy in the footer, and I'm not a fan of the logo on the top left. Sorry.

"replace the title images with text"

what does that mean?

I think he means replace the image with typed out text. He probably suggested it as the png image isn't particulalrly fancy, and as such just typing it in html as a header might suffice, and could be useful for SEO purposes.

when you say replace the "image" with text, what image are we on about?
sorry for being so thick, but this will be the only way i will learn

just typed it in to yahoo "payg car insurance" and its 2nd on first page

i liked the site. for me wish the info on our principals was larger font size. also i'd move that quote box higher on the page. it is really what let's people know what the site is all about right away. also on the links at the top, contact, about us, etc is not as important as the insurance links. i'd reverse and put the insurance links at the top. the others at the bottom of the page.
