Thus far a Sony VAIO seems to be the smallest device I can see that would allow me to be mobile and still be able to send PGP emails to the Automaton. Is there anything smaller out there that can upload the necessary PGP keys? Perhaps a handheld/ smart phone? N95?

Thanks

Jason :)

Hi Jason,

Not sure if you got my last PM - but web based via mobile / PDA browser is a good way to go - let me know if you want another copy.

cheers,
rob.

I pretty much do what Rob is suggesting. Web based with a Nokia e61 and a bit of SSH as well.. also have a Nokia 9300i which does the job as well.. and both have wi-fi.

Am selling my nokia 9300i if you interested

Hi Rob,

Yes I did get that PM - many thanks for the input and apologies for not replying earlier.

When I have a little more time I'll be looking at the mobile/ PDA option more closely as it seems ultra convenient to have just a handheld to cart around and a laptop would probably often just be gathering dust. Decisions, decisions.............

Cheers, Jason.

E90 - looks slick. Is it a new device? Is this the way forward for my needs?

E90 should be a very slick gadget when it comes out. The 9300i missed a few things that I really needed like no vibration and no keyboard back light. And the screen although large was just not a very usable size ie to long too narrow.

I wont be getting an e90 as the e61 is just a superb all round gadget. The screen size on the e61 is just much more natural and the size is much more practical. Seeing as the E90 is the same size as the 9300i, which I found very bulky.

The e90 is going to be expensive and you can pick up an e61 for as little as £100+

n95 dosent have a qwerty keyboard, unless you buy the addon fold up keyboard. Screen would be too small to work on for me.

yep its prob the best pc i have ever had and i have had a few ;)

Girls droool over it :)

Put a script on a web server that looks like a webmail interface but just sends to the automaton addresses and signs the emails for you.
Then you can access it from any web enabled device..
That would work provided you could password protect it.
