If any of you can help him and his familly it would be greatly appricated by them, They did not ask me to this but I felt compelled to do so. Not to be cynical but I'd suggest people should be careful about verifying these things, in every disaster there are a lot of scammers looking to take advantage.

If you're feeling generous, there are plenty of reputable disaster relief charities.

While we're at it there are over 1200 dead and millions homeless in the floods in India, Bangladesh and Nepal.

I'm not quite sure how mentioning the people dying in India etc (and suggesting they should be helped) is 'racist'. Seems this word is used far too often nowadays by people who don't quite know the meaning of it. The point being made was quite clear and had nothing to do with empires, races, or anything like that. It's a sad fact that in society there are people who want to get offended but aren't quite sure what is offending them.

Reminds me of the 'diversity and inclusion' training they gave us for the London 2012 Olympics volunteering..
Shown the picture before and told you have to refer to the person arrowed for a colleague..

Answers included 'As your colleague is black, you are worried about sounding racist when you describe him, so you select another less qualified team member to assist instead'!

People in my training were genuinely scared to answer A below which was obviously the correct answer!


People are far far too quick to jump to the 'racist' word - bonus media was merely warning others to be careful, quite rightly, given the number of scam pages that appear after a disaster.
