Over 10 years old, has had great page 1 rankings in the past, used to be a PR4, still has a bunch of rankings within the top 20 listings. No SEO work done for over 2 years.

Not sure if i would sell it as thinking of pushing forward over the next few months, but still wonder the value.

Was offered £5,000 when it was in its prime.

The domain wouldn't be worth anything on its own so would be down to how much traffic and earnings the website was getting.

Hi. In general I think the site looks very good indeed aesthetically - clean and professional. However ...

The instant quote tabs seem to be http rather than https but are collecting some of the most fundamental personal data.

The instant quote, loan repayment calculator and smiling couple are a bit too dominant, especially on the pages that are meant to relate to specific topics.

On Firefox, there is a brief overwritten display problem when selecting from the top grey menu.

Neutrality and comparison is great, but the absolute lack of affiliation to any institution (or mention of, say, FSA registration) seems too neutral.

The Google ads at bottom left of each page are inoffensive, but seem positioned to drive business away from your own site to competititors. Yes, I know you'll get Adsense revenue, but is that the primary goal ?

The blog doesn't feel like a blog, it feels like pages of content. Perfectly decent product content, but not blog material.

The blog post on 4th March gives lots of interesting info for US veterans. However, this is a UK website.

The terms and conditions content is still to be added. Same for privacy policy.

http://www.advanced-finance.co.uk/category/finance-news/ is dated August 2009.

The warning footer has a grammar error ("Some loans ?are? secured") and a punctuation error (final full stop).

Incidentally, your standard grey footer at SEO Positive Ltd (capital L) should refer to London Office, not London Head Office).

So, in general I think the site has a clean and professional look-and-feel, but I think there are various factors that mean there are credibility gaps for the consumer using it.

Hope that helps,
David

Wow, David thanks for that fantastic review. I take note of the points that you have raised and will be asking my designer to lok over them over the next week.

Your review was very good, not just in terms of feedback, but it obviously shows that you have taken the time to look at the website, and give an honest review.

Once again, thank you for your time and feedback on the site.

Ben.

The non hyphenated term is available for $2395.00 with no buyers ..? The plural hyphenated .com and co’uk etc are free to reg…? It’s not a commonly used combination for finance, I’d approach the people that offered the 5k ??? unless its making revenue? Think you'd struggle to find a buyer

For the first time ever, I was going to click the 'like' button for David's review... Couldn't find it though. Great site review!

I'd also add that IMO you shouldn't use the identity of "Advanced Finance Limited" unless you own the company. It's not registered according to Companies House, but "Advanced Finance Ltd" is showing as dissolved.

Also, I would change this...

"...brokerage based in the UK who are able to arrange a secured loan,..."

...to this:

"...brokerage based in the UK who may be able to arrange a secured loan,..."

I used to own the company Advanced Finance Limited a few years ago when i done mortgage broking, and came out of it after a few years due to the financial downturn.

Thanks for the feedback, as I need to update on the site as you correctly mention in your review.

Regards,

Ben.
