2 industry specific and generic domain names in an expanding area of the internet are for sale. Property covers a vast area including sales, rentals, holiday homes, villas, commercial, residential, high street estate agencies/lettings agents/online agents, developers, new builds, conveyancing, solicitors, interior and exterior decoration companies etc...

PropertyAffiliate.co.uk & PropertyAffiliates.co.uk

A 24hr revenue stream from thousands of customers who will also recruit customers that revenue will be earned from can be achieved. An expanding area of the internet that is showing no signs of stopping. Google and Yahoo! searches are vast combined roughly 60,000,000.

I have valued these domains at £15,000 for the pair. Any thoughts?

I'd say they're worth £0 unless they're getting lots of traffic and/or there's a developed site on there.

But, don't take my word for it, I know nothing!

I think you'll find this is around 2000 and not 60mil

The property affiliate business is set to boom! By 2010 nearly half of all UK house sales will be online. Coupled with the online growth in all aspects of the property industry and associated 'satellite' bisinesses e.g. conveyancing, accountants etc... The potential is huge, revenues will be constant and businesses offering property affiliate programmes are starting up every day!

£15,000 is a fair price based on it's earning potential, generic/content specific/broad industry and natue of the names. The affiliate business is a win-win situation for all involved and it's nature will cause customers to trust content specific domain name/site if it looks professional and functions effectively...

Does the £15k have a base or is it just plucked out of the air as it sounds about right? Lots of things have earning potential and can be multiplied by millions of users however I would not say thats an accurate way of valuing the domains.

If you are taking the view that these could be used by say a rightmove.co.uk affiliate, the whole point is that the affiliate is a gateway to the main target site with commision being paid. Advertising yourself as an affiliate with the domain name would not be ideal in my opinion.

If you view the domains as being the affiliate provider, would it not be the case that large existing sites eg. rightmove would just use their own site to run it , ala amazon at the moment.

Then there are then the alternatives... epropertyaffiliate.co.uk epropertyaffiliates.co.uk or property-affiliate.co.uk property-affiliates.co.uk all free for a fiver a go... £14,995 spent on online marketing goes quite far :)

Apologies if this is denting the sales thread, it could be more apt in appraisals, however I doubt there is anyone reading this thread who would pay £1500 for the names let alone £15,000 :(

Maybe I look at the marketplace in a different light. All online property businesses will eventually have an affiliate programme of some sort running. If people don't hit their site straight away then they will need a reference point, like a directory of affiliates so that they can make a choice of which one to use. A % will then be made on each customer that you get for the affiliate or charge a flat fee. The £15,000 fee is based on a long term business model. These domains will guarantee to turnover revenue if the right site and image is portrayed.

I have GamesAffiliate.com which is definitely worth £15,000 anyway!

Any figures that these values are based on?

All I can see is a few recently registered names with huge price tags based on 'big business in the future', but no evidence to back it up.

For the right person, these names are perfect. An end user who runs this type of business will find them invaluable if they want to retain the new customer base that will constantly search for these type of names. They could not be searching for anything other than the intended use of the website and therefore a % will be drawn back to sign up and earn commission.
