Hi All,

I have recently purchased the above name and was wondering your thoughts?

I have a couple of ideas how to develop it but as always your imput is always helpful?

Happy New Year!!

Can't see you monetising it easily, maybe 2k assuming no revenue ?

Hope you had a business model for it before you purchased it ?

Thanks for the response.

I certainly have!! just nice to know other peoples thoughts?

Cheers

TBH i am the same as doodlebug i cant see much use apart from christmas time with gifts or something but its not a large market only one month of the year ....

Good Luck tho :)

Wizard

Thanks Wizard. Yeah it is just december business but secret santa is very popular in the workplace and with the right idea could bring a nice little bonus once a year!

What's next easterbunny.co.uk ;)

Good luck mate, I think you could have a nice bonus once a year with a good plan

Ha Ha I like it!

cheers mate, I will let you know when developed.

Nice name...

We do a Secret Santa at work every year, with a £5 limit.

If you offered a very festive looking easy to use 'Search Engine' style site, with a few filters like:"max price" and whether it was for a male/female, then it could be a useful site.

I always find it really tricky thinking of something original for £5.

Thanks for the response Philip.

Totally agree with you. I use to work in an office in London and it was a big thing every year.

The right idea for the revenue is key.

Thanks Again

Maybe some sort of system where someone signs up, Adds all the people involved with the secret santa, it sends them an email with login details (automatically tells them who there buying for) then give them a product search engine to look through on login.

Cheers Aaron,

Yeah like a generator for offices where they get picked for them and then get to search? I was thinking I would have to have some kind of products on the site.

Thanks

Andy

Either just bulk sign up to affiliate companies like gadgets etc and load up a search engine with them or just have banners in a control panel to suggested retailers.

I was thinking most people wouldn't wait in for the post for a £5 gift for a work collegue, especially as it could end up being someone they don't know very well ?

However a good idea could be if the company involved signs upto the site and enters all the employees names and then the site generates a list of who buys for who and e-mails each employee to say who they have to buy for ?

Then each employee chooses an item from your online catalogue and all the presents are sent to the company in one go already wrapped and labelled ie, to Tom Evans

This would save all the employees from having to go looking for a present and remember it could be for someone they don't really know or care about so it wouldn't be a the top of their list of things to do near xmas, also saves anyone being left out.

Same for me in terms of actually selling the gifts online - too cheap and people aren't planning ahead. Everywhere I worked it was generally a case of running out at lunchtime the same day :)

Selling "the system" to CEO's on the basis that they can use the software so his secretary / staff don't waste hours co-ordinating the whole thing, might be the way forward ?!

Yes, agree. Sounds like a better idea! Lots of potential if developed correctly.

You should also add the ability to send anonymous messages so that I can quiz the person I am buying for about their likes / dislikes (especially useful when the present is for the opposite sex!)

Yeah I actually though the same thing about annonymous messages!!

Like your site! was it worth while with the gift exchange? seems like everyone has jumped on the wagon!

Thanks

Andy

It was an internet forum (just like this) and so the members who wanted to signed up and then you get the person it's picked.

Works well for distance secret santa as you can have the items delivered direct to the recipient.

It would make more sense to have it delivered to your workplace.

Solve that with a couple of reminder emails. Could have one person from the company set up the list with who's involved, amount & the date it's taking place, and then you send out a couple of reminder emails with a few product suggestions depending on whether the recipient is male or female.
