Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone else gets a sudden 90% drop in their traffic from google for roughly a weeks time, every month or so? Should my year old, pr0 site be fluctuating this much in google's listings?

Strange

That's sounds odd to me. I've been doing this for some time now and have not ever had that issue. Make sure you are not linking to site such as porn, gamble, viagra, pharmaseuticals.... That will get your link juice reduced real quick. But not sure why it would fluctuate like that. I'm interested in an expert responce on this one.

Google does dance once in a while and that may mean a huge drop on search engine rankings which of course affect traffic. But you should do fine after the dance, as long as you keep refreshing your site with valuable content.

Do check if your site is still indexed or if there are bad neighborhood pointing to you

If you can't see your site on Google, log in to Google Webmaster Tool and submit a Re inclusion Request

With a site I was working on, after about six months I had a drop for a month or two but after that I settled in third on google, sometimes I drop to forth but only for a day.

Sometimes I get odd domains dropping massively and then coming back.

I.e Swansea.co.uk was at number 23 for search term 'swansea', and now down to 590 in 1 day! However, all other sites are slowly drifting up the rankings.

Hopefully Swansea will be back in a couple of days...

There are times that my site dropped its rank but then it will redeem its position for a couple of days because I double work on back links.

Although in some cases, like calendar based occasions, the traffic shares of the websites might fluctuate but this does not mean all the business niches are affected. The best thing to do would be checking your Google ranks to see where you were and are at present. If your website is new, there is probably nothing to worry about because fluctuations and dances are always happening to such sites.
