I would say a couple of others might sell today as well in that range. I am not counting Sex.co.uk in that, however it would be good to see a public million dollar sale

If you are referring to mine, I appologize for having read the first post as $450 not $450,000, and that's why I thought it was the s-ex.co.uk name instead which is also @ Sedo.

I'm a firm believer in .co.uks and I think most people have realized the potential in them. I hope those who haven't sell me their good ones for low prices .

I am certain the 450K is a true bid from someone hoping the seller will flex the reserve to get a sale. It will be interesting to see if it happens.

No not your post mate, others on Acorn in the past going back a few months now. People refusing to believe that anyone would pay over a few grand for a .co.uk and anyone claiming to know about transactions under NDAs or the like were talking rubbish.

Good news for people on here though in a way, as there is still a gap to get some bargains.

imho, sex.co.uk is a nice domain @ 100k but 500 no way - but id rather have phones.co.uk, holidays.co.uk, mobiles.co.uk - fly.co.uk etc any day of the week.

the Sex industry is saturated, long ago tiedup by some big boyz - to get onboard now you'd have to have dEEp pockets..

Of course there is good money still to be made with sex .co.uk but I just think the whole adult area is more of a risk now with google etc tightening up on adult content.

advertiser .co.uk shows £5,050 with 28 minutes to go and then when you click on it the detail page says £2,000 reserve not met.

As for prices - any chance looking at http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/sold-domains/23367-top-10-co-uk-sales-year-3.html#post89432 as you are about. £1.7 million of sales in .uk is quite large so clarification could be good.

Obviously you say NDA's etc, but can you give a guide to what style of names (and if it was soley domains, or domains+sites) as paying £200k for none generic domains with no sites is quite interesting

sport was the star imo. the seller did right to put a big reserve on it.
God, what would mainstream tv pay for that in this country or media networks, football conglomerates etc.
a million dollar name on its day no doubt. a lot of the big boys are still not up to speed on domains & the net as they should be. it will sell in the future no doubt.
imo sex owner being greedy, but up to him/her.
lots of reasons why i would want to offload that one
