Ok, so who else now quite likes Stuart Baggs, the 'brand'?

At the beginning of the series (The Apprentice for anyone who's not been watching) I thought he was a prat, but as it's gone on I've grown to like him.

Most who go on the show are full of themselves and spout a load of garbage about how great they are, but he seems to walk the walk. His company is at bluewave.im - he's got his head screwed on for a 21 yo.

Shows you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

Alan Sugar is single handedly turning that show into a bigger joke than the xfactor. It wasn't far off before, but ever since the first series which was serious, the others are just comedy.

Sacks a Royal Marine who never made a mistake and first time in the boardroom at week 8, sacks the best Lady on the show last night. Plus he backed Gordon Brown and labour who took this country to Bankruptcy. Told Bill Gates there was no money in software. Why are we taking lessons from this guy as if he is a business God.

Why on earth do they keep selling it as 16 of the most promising business people in the UK. Since when do the top 16, compete for a 100k a year job working for someone else.

There are about 2-3 in there that are decent the rest are just for comedy value.

Saying that lads, I have in my pocession the DVD of a life time, it's the Apprentice but a spoof where ther applicants don't know it's a spoof. Has anyone ever seen it "my big fat obnoxious boss" the funniest show ever to hit tv, was on 8 years ago but never been sold on DVD by Fox???

Anyone wants a cope give me a shout, I'll see if I can upload them somewhere.

This Marine?

I hear what you're saying about Old Walnut Face (and don't mention the £50m of Woolworths shares he bought months before they went bust) but after all, it is an entertainment show more than anything else.

That DVD sounds good - let me know if you get it uploaded.

IYep that's the lad, wouldn't hurt a fly. :D Wonder if they got hint of the investigation last year and that is why they fired him sharpish. I know they only just charged him but could have been dragging on for years that fraud.

He seemed to get his marching order (no pun intended) pretty quick, that would explain it.

The funny thing is that I would not hire any of the candidates if I was in Lord Sugars position. Not only do I find they majority relatively rude, they are needy and petty.

As for the mentors, Karen would get hired in a snap of my fingers. There is something about the lady I like and I feel she is an excellent role model.

I did like the speech he gave to save himself, and Lord Sugar was definitely enjoying hearing some of the lines he came out with.

He's definitely pretty switched on, but my goodness, that ego!!

Rgds

Stuart is Brilliant, 21 says it all, but what a future. Best of a very bad bunch.

As for the Marine, I think the charge for misrepresentation is probably for his cross dressing, I'm told most marines dress as women in Plymouth, some drunken matlow sore all over afte a drunken fumble complained.

Excluding you Greywing, I'm sure Duke St hasn't seen your party dress :D

Caz I can't disagree with you on any of that. I have seen far worse than the old cross dressing, that's seen as low level behaviour. :D

I did think he was just a spoilt brat living off of mummy and daddies money and business but I did a bit of Google stalking and found him posting on forums around the age of 16 looking for hosting servers and talking the talk even at that age.

I thought he got a bit of a rough ride last night - he could've avoided any trouble by just saying that his license related to ISP and didn't cover telecoms.

The best two are still in it, but I don't think we've seen the last of Baggsy - childrens TV maybe...?

Sorry but I can't stand the guy. Obnoxious, self serving and with a massively overblown sense of self worth. I can happily give him kudos for having his own business at an early age but his attitude makes my skin crawl.

That's just how I used to feel about him, but somehow his youthful enthusiasm changed my mind - he's like a springer spaniel puppy that needs to learn he has to piss outdoors.

I think I agree with techtimmy. All respect for actually getting off his butt and doing something (which many people of his generation fail to do), but he needs a real attitude re-adjustment.

His problem is that he doesn't know what he doesn't know and therefore thinks everyone else are idiots. In fact he reminds me of myself a lot at that age :)

I think he would be a good person to work with, because of the energy, and obvious enthusiasm, but a bad person to employ.

Brewsters, I have warmed to him as well and was quite surprised he ended up going. It is of course still a TV show though and everything's done for entertainment.

Some funny quotes from him last night in the interviews, my favourite being along the lines of the interviewer's "You're not a brand" followed by his reply "Well I think I am" :D

I hated the guy at first, I mean really hated the guy, he was a complete a*seh%le. But you know what I thought it incredibly unfair they picked up on his telecoms licence. He was operating an ISP, so why would he have any other licence? It was a joke they got him on that compared with all other candidates.

I came round to the thinking he did have something unique underneath all that immaturity and bravado. It's a shame really he could'nt turn down the attitude and you know what I think he could have done it.

Do they only select people for the Apprentice I write a Megalomaniacal statement of intent on their CV?

What he wrote was that he had a 'fully licensed' telecoms company, which was factually correct. He has all the licenses he needs for the business he does. What he doesn't have, is a 'full telecoms' license.

To be fair, the interviewer was splitting hairs over interpreting the wording.

Absolutely....

I don't think the interviewer was too worried about whether he had the full license or not even though he was making a real song and dance about it. You can tell that the Sugar and his colleagues have massive respect for someone so young to venture out and start his own business. Part of the reason for this stage of the contest is to found out how the candidates cope under heavy pressure and how they would react if they had to work with a complete arsehole like what the interviewers pretend to be just for the show. If you can't take a bit of criticism from others and remain professional and keep a level head, they won't be hired.

Solely based on the performance of the interview stage, the right candidates were selected for the final. But in overall performance, the same two deserve to be in the final. If Liz was still in the process (and still should be, all because of Stuart 'Baw' Baggs), it would have been (edit) Liz and either Chris or Stella.

How funny that the point that got him fired was actually a point he was correct on and the others were wrong.

Broadband is a telecom, "tele" means distant and "comms" is short for communication. Broadband is a telecoms industry and he has a license, I would have stuck to my guns as well. All the price comparison sites have it as a telecom. There might have been a provisional broadband license that gets you started then you get a full one?????

If they were trying that hard to pull him apart and that is the best they can find then maybe he wasn't all bad. Still a nob and will get filled in somewhere when he goes out on a night out.

I thought they guy was brilliant - a pure sales machine

they were right to let him go though.

btw. i have been interviewed by the MD of viglin years ago ( and the man was in the room ) scary
