I always have a few projects on the go at the same time (some mine, some clients)

I would like to be able to create different tasks for each of the projects and put them in a daily/weekly to do list.

I could then click on each of the project individually to look at progress.

Is there any software which would do this?

I've been looking for something similar recently so I'll be interested to see what people recommend.

What about Microsoft Project? Used this in college for a while, might suit you although it's more aimed at managing people than tasks.

I'd second Trello too. I don't use it - stick to Google Tasks in Google Calendar. BUT, have started to look at Trello. I've only heard good things about it...

for project management as a whole I use basecamp

but for to do lists like what you are asking for I cannot recommend todoist.com highly enough for its simplicity.

I am still using notepad. Tried a few bits of software but nothing has 'stuck'

Just signed up for Trello, looks good so far!

Wunderlist.com free version is great, paid has a few collaboration features.
