lots of activity today?
as you can tell - i'm bored to death - hence all the repsonses.

whats your excuse??

the only thing stopping my regging loads of really bad domains is the firewall where i'm working - many thanks to cisco! :)

It's raining up ere in Yackshire, so i'm doing my "indoor" work today.

It makes a nice change to get a few people on, the first couple of weeks I was here you could go days without a post.

Still, it looks pretty lonely over at the detagged forum.

I've been having a look at dnforum.com too, those yanks reg some seriously bad names too... we're not alone

I'm coming on here a lot more now, I used to spend my days over at DNforum but that's becoming more of the exception than the rule these days.

I'm also fairly bored...my day consists of checking Namedrive account, checking Sedo/Parkingsite account, moving more names to Namedrive, checking here, seeing how many posts are on DNF, leaving DNF because I can't be bothered to read though all the rubbish, checking lists/overture, reading the Register, smoking....then repeating  (Oh, and I am actually at my 9-5 job)

I'm involved in some pretty dry and meticulous building specification work at the moment, so I'm using the forum as a prop, it's giving me a welcome dose of head-clearing, every half hour or so.

Agreed - it's nice to see the forum busy.

17 on

only 353 to go to beat the record... can we do it?

I'm sitting here in Bedfordshire, looking out of the window, and enjoying wasting some time on the forum. My wife is in another room busily configuring domains and checking renewals. She'll kill me if she logs in to Acorn today.

Nice work Nigel.

A womans place isn't in the kitchen, its in whois.

Nice one ratboy

but guess who's cooking the dinner tonight!

Im bored so Im reorganizing the furniture in my study and moving my drum kit into my computer room

I just registered 15 more domains (Totalling 18 so far today) :???:

post them up - give us all something to tut at
;)

Nigel, Ha ha, you'd better hope the missus doesn't have a scan round AD or your a deadman. ;-)

What I'm doing today (it's 11pm here in Sydney) is I'm going to try and fix my aircon unit because I'm sweating my bollocks off, and then I'm going to bed cos I'm knackered after sitting in front of my computer for the last nine hours programming perl.

londoncateringequipment.co.uk
maplinelectronic.co.uk
neathswanseaospreys.co.uk
aqualisashowers.co.uk
gagdetshop.co.uk
kandnfilters.co.uk
lonelyladies.co.uk
320is.co.uk

These are the .co.uk's i've just registered......tut away

If you can't work out why the hell I registered them, they are all overture with extension domains, so basicly they are a stab in the dark.

You can tell I don't make registrations based on keyword.

Way I see it is if you buy a .co.uk domain at reg fee (6.04 inc VAT @ 123-Reg), it only has to make £0.008 a day to break even over the 2 years. Even if it makes only $0.10 a day for 2 years that's still a £30+ profit over the 2 years on your initial £6 investment (Roughly 400% profit).....try getting that sort of return from a bank

With this logic, invest £5000 into domains = 830 domains, at the $0.10 per day average = $83 a day or $60,000 over the 2 year period.

Or maybe i'm just trying to convince myself that I'm not flushing my money down the pan ;-)

Very valid point. Thats £15,000 a year from a £5,000 investment. Bet Mr Red Braces can't beat that.

Just dont tell em.

You've convinced me J2

Just been onto the bank to up my limit to £5000, should be ok on 10 mins

Right so what do I do?

I buy 830ish half decent domain names for £5000 and that'll see me right for life at return £20000 a year.

I like it, I don't beleive it, but I LIKE IT

Tell me about this overture thing - I don't know who to use it

Alex
