Just wanted to see if other people have had similar experiences with conversion rates with really good generics.

We bought a really generic .com recently we also own the .org. The org gets 3 times the traffic and gets half the leads. Whilst you would expect more trust with the .com i am amazed at exactly how much more and what a difference it is making in turning traffic to leads.

Would be interested to see if anyone else has any stats on this or experience.

I disagree that .com is trusted more than .org.

In most .com vs .org cases, lower conversion is down to extension fit, not extension. If you are using a commercial term on a .org that would explain the lower conversion imo. I owned familyhistory.org a few years back and that converted at about 30% consistently, year after year.
