Hey guys want a real laugh at sedo ....

Dear Mr. Flynn,

We are writing to inform you that Sedo has received a complaint of potential trademark infringement regarding the use of the following domain names in conjunction with Sedo services:

featurewindows.co.uk
windowspecialists.co.uk

Due to the famous nature of the trademark contained in the domain at issue, Sedo is forced to remove your domain from the domain marketplace and parking program at this time. This action in no way affects your registration or control of the domain, your Sedo user account or the other domains you have listed for sale or parked with Sedo. However, due to the potential of infringement of a famous mark Sedo must do the following:

- Suspend the domain name from our domain marketplace
- Suspend the domain name from our parking program

Sedo takes great pains to strike a balance between the legitimate rights of domain owners and third party intellectual property owners and require verification of legal complaints before taking any action against a domain listed for sale or parked with Sedo.

sedo i would like to see a copy of the complaint please

Greywing has posted something similar on http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/sedo/...licit-endorsement-cybersquatting-part-ii.html

The rights program pointed to previous is found at Policies - Sedo.co.uk

Step Two states:
Domain owners are given three days to respond, and within ten days of when the complaint was received, the domain will be reviewed by a Sedo staff member trained in intellectual property matters and a decision will be made whether to remove the domain in question at which time both the complainant and the domain owner will be notified via email.

There is no mention in the above of a time period to respond, or if it is automated.

I really cannot believe a human could see the above as TM !?

Incidently the complaints are 'window' related, so I hope this is not a hammer cracking a nut for Microsoft + Sedo?!

i got same for a domains aswell..

I got one at 17:37 also for a "windows" domain but the domain is about double glazing!!

I fear Rob is correct. I've also asked who the complaint is and what their rights are.

Ohh dear - Sedo need an intelligent coder I think...

thats all run microsoft are coming,i would post it on every forum on the internet to make sedo look like fools

I think it was automated request, my point in the other thread was that I can now see how difficult it is for sedo to run an automated censor as we have requested.

Fair play I suppose, it may be harder than I first thought to introduce such automated controls

Automated stuff is straightforward, its a case of the human creating the check lists.

Going by Sedo's policy a written complaint has come in and someone has banged "window" / "windows" into the software, which has then in turn done its job.

Perhaps Sedo need to splash out on placing the coders in offices rather than a bunker, then they would be more aware of different meanings of 'windows' :)

Maybe mate or maybe they are trialling new software and starting with "windows".

Suppose they'll be about tomorrow to answer it, would be interesting to hear.

I have asked for a job application :p

I did find this picture of their current programmer tho...

caged-orangutan-smaller.jpg

Its Robs day off for posting random images :p

I refer the honorable gentleman to my previous picture posted to a sedo thread giving them guidance with regards to the location and labelling of 'arse' and 'elbows'.

You guys are harsh, there's me slaughtering everyone and when I apologies you guys tell me I'm going soft.

No pleasing you lot is there, :D:D

Ruthless, absolutely ruthless you lot

If ya getting soft try sildenafil ;)

This is a clear rip off of my idea, only it was put together in a pisspoor way.

Clearly their programmer thought cool idea, i was busy picking tics out my fur and never thought about this, but i'm smart enough not to test the code before implementation.

Automation is all good on a tried and tested system but on fledgling code human sorry chimp intervention is required.

I would set this script to return the 1200 domains, then reviewed them, and made revisions based on that set.

Also of all the generic words they chose they chose an ultra common word?

How about trying porche, ferrari, microsoft, honda, ipod, but no you think lets do apple, orange, windows, hell why not add THE in there too.
I can forgive smaller companies on limited budgets but when your the shark in the pond, you better be the ultimate machine.
