Trading domain names should be banned

This guy simply hasn't thought it through.
If trading was banned today, how would he acquire the .com ?

Should have just given them a 10% full and final offer and let them sit on it. From experience they would have come back every few month where you could repeat the offer... until they most likely would have caved in at ~25%.

Bit like saying, ban trading cars, or houses, or junk on ebay.

But there is a example of what he is saying, in Ireland. What happens there is there is no incentive for someone to release a domain name at all, ever. So they may as well just stick it in the companies inventory for if they ever need to use it in the next 500 years. There is simply no reason to hand it over.

So all he is doing is saying, I'd rather not even have the possibility of buying the name ever, rather than well there might be a chance.

One of the reasons .ie doesn't work. There are a few others but that is one why its not popular as it could, or even should have been.

domain names not resolving

I note not all his own domain names resolve and if somebody wanted to register them for another purpose (not sports care) over the last few years they could not or even contact him via the website to buy them.

To point out the obvious, why did he start trading under that name anyway? He talks to the reader as if the domain trader has deprived him of his rightful name, but it's clear he knew the .com was taken even before the so called shark obtained it?
